Hello!
I'm from Quebec, Canadian by birth, and my mother tongue is French. I love traveling and discovering cultures, whether through history, gastronomy, music or language. I've completed two bachelor's degrees, the first in international studies and modern languages, and the second in teaching French as a second language.

I've been in the teaching field for 10 years. I started out as an animator in a school in Manitoba and continued as a teacher in private schools during my university studies. I've now been working in the public system for almost 4 years. I can give courses for beginners, intermediate or advanced students.
Je suis dans le domaine de l'enseignement depuis 10 ans. J'ai commencé comme animateur dans une école du Manitoba et j'ai continué comme enseignant dans des écoles privées durant mes études universitaires. I like to teach in a dynamic way. I do everything I can to make students feel at ease. I correct students and explain the reasons for my intervention.
My classes have this structure:
1 -Check your knowledge ;
2 -Presentation of the material ;
3 -Checking comprehension with examples ;
4 -Written and oral exercices.
J'aime donner des classes de façon dynamique. Je fais tout ce que je peux pour que les étudiants soient à l'aise. Je corrige les étudiants et leur explique les raisons de mon intervention.

I just took my first lesson on iTalki with Louis-Carl and was totally blown away! Louis-Carl is patient, kind and easy to talk to. It was also clear within the first few minutes that he brought with him a TON of teaching experience. I've had many hours of classes on iTalki before but can honestly say that I've never had a class where I've learned so much in such a short amount of time. I would highly recommend Louis-Carl to anyone looking to begin their French journey or wanting to take your French to the next level (perhaps after feeling you've plateaued). Teachers like Louis-Carl are what make this app so great and it's wonderful that he's decided to call iTalki home.

J'ai apprécié ma première leçon de français avec Louis, il est très informatif et pose beaucoup de questions sur ce que je veux retirer du cours de français, j'apprécie qu'il écoute et prenne le temps de corriger mes erreurs grammaticales qui sont très importantes pour moi lorsque je parle français et que je maintiens une conversation claire.

I've only had two classes with Louis, but I've greatly enjoyed them. I felt very comfortable, and it's clear that he takes teaching seriously :)
Our conversations are always engaging; he makes learning French seem effortless - which is no small feat!
