Lucas

I’ve taken about 70 lessons with Lucas in both French (intermediate) and German (advanced). He’s always very professional, on-time, and attentive in our lessons. He customizes our sessions based on my interest and is always open to feedback. For example, he prepared a German vocabulary list of technical cameral gear and photography terms. This was so lovely of him to do in his free time prior to our session. Lucas is an excellent teacher with a fun and well-informed, providing interesting reading material and homework. Another time when Lucas really went above and beyond was when I started studying for the TEF IRN, which is a French language exam to apply for naturalization. Lucas had never taught this particular format of the exam before, and so kindly agreed to help me prepare for this new format. We went through countless exercises together and I was soooo happy when I aced my exam. 
 In summary, Lucas is an amazing teacher and I can genuinely recommend his classes.

The first French class with Lucas was genuinely encouraging and set a clear foundation for the learning journey ahead, focusing first on alignment rather than rushing into material. As a first-time learner of French with prior experience in other languages, there was a productive discussion around past learning methods, what had worked well before, and what hadn’t, which helped frame expectations realistically. Lucas invited open feedback on different teaching approaches and the session felt collaborative in deciding which method would best suit the course moving forward. By the end of the class, expectations were clearly aligned on both sides, the chosen approach felt tailored rather than generic, and there was a reassuring sense that the course would be both structured and flexible enough to support steady, confident progress.

Lucas is a great teacher. He has a wealth of knowledge he can share, is helpful and polite. He adapts his way of speaking and pronunciation to my current oral comprehension level. In my opinion his accent is worth acquiring, that is why I chose him in the first place. I am very content to have him as my teacher, because my active vocabulary increases with every session and my German accent atrophies steadily. Furthermore he keeps the conversation flowing and it is fun talking to him. I can recommend Lucas as a teacher to everyone who wants to improve, enhance and refine their French skills.

Great first lesson with Lucas! He focused on my accent reduction in French and was very targeted with the exact areas I was interested in. Looking forward to our next session.
