Elisa

Elisa is an outstanding Italian teacher whose expertise in CILS preparation is truly remarkable. She combines rigorous academic precision with an energetic and bubbly personality that makes every lesson both engaging and memorable. Her kindness and gentle manner create a supportive atmosphere in which students feel encouraged to excel, while her enthusiasm inspires confidence and motivation. It is rare to find a teacher who balances professional excellence with such warmth and humanity — Elisa embodies both to perfection.

She is very well prepared. She sent a summary of an article with vocab and questions. I am a high a1 low a2 but after reviewing this summary I felt like we could almost have a real Italian conversation, certainly a conversation that is well above my level. She is very pleasant to talk to and quite encouraging. I highly recommend her.

Elisa è un’insegnante eccellente: preparata, paziente e molto chiara nelle spiegazioni. Le sue lezioni sono ben strutturate ma allo stesso tempo rilassate, e ci divertiamo molto a parlare insieme. Grazie a lei ho fatto grandi progressi, soprattutto nella conversazione e nella sicurezza nell’uso dell’italiano. La consiglio vivamente.

In class we are reading a book. Elisa encourages me to speak, read, and ask questions. She knows her chickens (an italian phrase) so she always sticks in a few reflexive verbs because she knows I need practice with them. Class is always enjoyable and time flys when you are having fun.

Today we discussed books we liked to read and the weather. We discussed interesting idioms like zero km and pesce d'Aprile. Elisa is very patient as I begin to use the past tense and the correct endings for adjetives.

Elisa is a very patient and bubbly person and I am very much enjoying my lessons with her. I chose the Italian Book Club format, which is a creative way to improve your Italian while reading a novel - great for book-lovers and anyone who wants something different from the typical structure of learning with a textbook.
