こんにちは！🙋♀️ My name is Akane. I'm from Yokohama, Japan🇯🇵. I currently live in Switzerland with my husband and our Shiba Inu 🐕. I speak English (B2) and German (B1+), so I can support you in multiple languages if needed 🇺🇸🇩🇪.
📚 My Lesson Offerings
A0 (Beginner): Practice writing hiragana and katakana, and learn how to introduce yourself.
A1–A2: Use Genki I & II or みんなの日本語 to build a strong foundation in grammar, vocabulary, and conversation.
B1–B2: Use Quartet or できる日本語 to develop practical conversation, reading skills, and natural expressions.
C1 and above: Learn business Japanese

🧑🏫: My experience teaching Japanese
I teach one-on-one lessons on italki and also teach at an educational institution in 🇨🇭. I completed a 1-year Japanese Teacher Training Course (420 hours) at a Japanese university and hold a professional Japanese teaching certificate 🧑🏫. I have taught over 400 hours in total.
Since I’m learning English and German myself, I know how tricky it can be to learn a new language. In my class, don’t worry about making mistakes — they’re just stepping stones on your way to fluency! 🌱✨

Akane is an outstanding Japanese tutor and I recommend her without hesitation. As an American learner, I am progressing very quickly with her guidance and can clearly see the results from our lessons.
She is an excellent teacher: patient, well prepared, and very clear in her explanations.

Today we finished Genki I, and I am looking forward to continuing my studies with Akane in Genki II. Thanks to her, I am always motivated to keep learning outside of class and not lose focus.
She always explains the tasks to me in a very understandable way and helps me when I get stuck. Without her, I would not have made such great progress, which is why I am very grateful to her.
