This class is designed for absolute beginners and early learners who want to build a strong foundation in Ukrainian. Whether you’re starting from scratch (Pre-A1) or already know a few basics (A1), this course will help you gain confidence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Ukrainian Language for Complete Beginners (Pre A1 and A1)

This course introduces children aged 8–12 to the Ukrainian language through engaging, interactive lessons designed for young beginner learners (Pre-A1 to A1 level).                  Students will develop basic communication skills in Ukrainian, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing, in a playful and supportive environment.

Children will learn to:

Recognize and use basic Ukrainian vocabulary (greetings, numbers, colors, family, animals, school objects, and simple actions)

Understand and practice simple phrases and questions

Introduce themselves, ask and answer basic questions about age, feelings, and everyday topics

Read and write Cyrillic letters and short words

Follow simple instructions and classroom language in Ukrainian

The course uses games, songs, flashcards, storytelling, and creative activities to make learning fun and memorable. Cultural elements such as Ukrainian holidays, traditions, and songs are also introduced to give context and enrich the learning experience.

By the end of the course, students will be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic phrases.

Ukrainian Language for Children ( 8 - 12 years old) - Pre A1 - A1

This beginner-level Ukrainian course is designed for learners who have little to no prior knowledge of the language and wish to build a strong foundation in everyday communication. Aligned with the CEFR A1–A2 levels, the course focuses on the gradual development of listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Ukrainian.

Students will learn to:

Understand and use frequently used words and expressions related to everyday life (e.g., personal information, daily activities, shopping, travel, food)

Introduce themselves and others, ask and answer questions about familiar topics such as name, age, nationality, hobbies, and family

Read and write short Cyrillic texts, messages, signs, and simple descriptions

Engage in basic conversations in predictable, routine situations (e.g., ordering food, buying tickets, asking for directions)

Describe people, places, likes/dislikes, routines, and simple past actions using present and past tenses

The course includes:

Thematic units with real-life contexts

Interactive activities such as dialogues, role-plays, games, videos, and cultural content

Gradual grammar introduction (e.g., noun cases, verb conjugations, personal pronouns, adjectives)

A focus on confidence-building and pronunciation practice

By the end of the course, students will be able to communicate in simple, connected sentences, understand short texts and conversations, and express themselves in basic but meaningful ways in Ukrainian.

Ukrainian Language for Beginners (A1-A2)

This course is designed for learners who already have a basic command of Ukrainian and are ready to develop greater fluency, accuracy, and independence in communication. Aligned with the B1–B2 levels, the course builds on foundational skills to help students engage in more complex conversations, understand a wider range of texts, and express themselves clearly in spoken and written Ukrainian.

Students will learn to:

Participate in everyday and semi-formal conversations, expressing opinions, preferences, and emotions with growing confidence

Understand the main ideas and specific details in clear standard speech on familiar and some unfamiliar topics (e.g., media, travel, work, culture, education)

Read and interpret longer texts, including articles, short stories, interviews, and dialogues

Write structured texts such as emails, personal letters, summaries, and short essays

Use and recognize a broader range of grammatical structures, including aspects of verb tenses, cases, conditionals, and complex sentence patterns

Expand vocabulary related to daily life, current events, and cultural topics, including idiomatic expressions and collocations

Learning methods include:

Interactive dialogues, role-plays, and group discussions

Listening activities using audio and video from authentic sources

Reading comprehension exercises from real-world texts

Targeted grammar review and practical writing tasks

Ukrainian Language for Intermediate  (B1-B2)

This course follows the official Ukrainian school curriculum and is designed for native or fluent Ukrainian-speaking students. It develops skills in Ukrainian grammar, spelling, reading, writing, and literary analysis. Students study a range of classical and modern Ukrainian literature, learn to express their thoughts clearly in oral and written form, and deepen their understanding of language structure, culture, and national identity.

The course includes:

Grammar and vocabulary development

Creative and analytical writing

Reading and interpreting literature from the Ukrainian canon

Speaking and listening practice through discussions and presentations

Study of Ukrainian history, values, and cultural heritage through texts

Lessons are adapted by grade level and help prepare students for state assessments and continued academic success in the Ukrainian education system.

Ukrainian Language and Literature (School Program) (Primary and Secondary Schools)

This course is designed for advanced learners who wish to achieve high-level fluency and accuracy in Ukrainian. Aligned with the B2–C1 levels, the course focuses on refining speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills for use in academic, professional, and social contexts.

Students will:

Engage in complex conversations and debates on abstract, cultural, and current topics

Understand and analyze a wide range of authentic spoken and written texts

Express themselves clearly, fluently, and persuasively in both spoken and written Ukrainian

Expand their use of advanced grammar, idioms, and nuanced vocabulary

Write essays, reports, reviews, and formal correspondence with precision and coherence

Learning activities include:

Analysis of news articles, literature, films, and opinion pieces

Advanced grammar practice (e.g. verb aspects, syntax, stylistic variations)

Presentations, discussions, and debates on topical issues

Writing tasks aimed at developing academic and professional communication

By the end of the course, learners will be able to communicate confidently and effectively in a variety of complex situations, approaching near-native proficiency

Each class typically lasts 60 minutes, but I am open to longer sessions if it benefits learning and saves time in the long run.
