Dia dhuit, céad míle fáilte go dtí mo phróifíl! Bilingual Irish and English native with 7+ years of teaching experience. I grew up in the heart of the famous Conamara, immersed in its rich culture, and completed all my education through Irish. I’m passionate about making Irish fun and engaging for learners of all levels—and I can’t wait to share the beauty of our language and culture with you! I have taught hundreds of students from numerous countries during my time as a teacher. Meeting people with different interests and life experiences is one of the perks of the job I love the most. I think it's important to make students feel comfortable and to uplift them from the very first lesson! I can promise that my lessons will be a place free from judgment, where I will help you explore the beauty of a fast-growing language and give you the confidence to share what you’ve learned with others! I focus on the relationship between the student and teacher and make sure that the lesson is a place where they can ask me anything about the Irish language! All topics are possible! Its not just an Irish language lesson, but a cultural lesson! My style consists of building confidence in conversation, while also making sure the student has a strong base in grammar so they can continue to feel confident outside of lessons. Each lesson is completely adapted to the student and I will focus on all aspects, from grammar, oral and conversation to writing, all will be covered!

Today was my first lesson/ conversation practice with Conor, who is new on iTalki. I was extremely pleased and impressed, and I hope to take many more lessons and do a lot more conversation practice with him. He is a native Irish speaker from Conemara, but nevertheless he spoke clearly and at a pace that I could easily understand. He was very patient with my American accented Irish, and his comments gave me confidence. He is a very kind person and also an interesting person to converse with. I felt very comfortable speaking Irish with him, and I'm certain that continuing to study and practice with him will improve my Irish greatly. I highly recommend him!

I'm not great with classrooms nor with structured learning so I appreciated Conor's relaxed conversational approach . Within 3 minutes we were exchanging greetings. Before beginning the lesson I had two hopes: to speak a dialect ( as opposed to standard Irish) in this case, Connemara, and to find a way of using it in my music and writing; my Father and Uncles having played in the Irish pubs in Kilburn and Brixton in the 50's. It's not easy to begin with, but I pushed myself after the lesson and found that, with a little effort, the words flowed. Apart from talking to family in Ireland, I have children and grandchildren here in Notting hill, and I will pass this onto them . Slainte!

I have done conversation practice in Irish with Conor several times now. He is kind and patient and a good conversationalist. I always enjoy the classes immensely. I highly recommend him.
