I’m Lancer, born and raised in Shanghai, China, and I moved to the U.S. about 15 years ago. I have an MBA and a Ph.D. in Foreign and Second Language Education, and I’ve always been passionate about helping people connect through language.
I absolutely love teaching Mandarin — it’s creative, dynamic, and full of surprises! My students often tell me my classes are fun, interactive, and go by way too fast. You’ll laugh, you’ll learn, and before you know it, you’ll be speaking Mandarin with confidence and ease.

I have over 15 years of experience teaching Mandarin and English to learners from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. As a native Mandarin speaker fluent in English, I make grammar, tones, and pronunciation easy to understand. I specialize in adult education and create student-centered lessons that develop all four language skills. I’ve taught students at every level—from complete beginners to advanced professionals—and also offer business Mandarin for workplace communication. Using interactive tools such as Google Slides, digital flashcards, authentic audios and videos, I make every class engaging and practical.
