I've been having lessons with Yukari 先生 for a few weeks now, and I've enjoyed every one so far. We've been using the N4 日本語総まとめ (nihongo so-matome) books to review grammar and kanji, and while I already understood most of the grammar and kanji we've covered, it's been really useful to go through these together. I practice reading out loud to continue getting used to speaking, and we clarify a few meanings to confirm my understanding. We've also done some work with flashcards, listening practice with videos, and some kanji quizzes, and we've had a few basic conversations (which I'm still not very good at!). Then for homework, I read the next couple of pages and make a few sentences from the grammar and kanji, which in turn helps with thinking about what to say for conversations. Yukari 先生 has generally been very good at explaining when I'm unsure of meanings, and she's been very kind and patient throughout. I always look forward to our lessons every week!

Yukari was brilliant. I loved the first lesson, she was very patient and supportive. Her lesson plan was great too, testing memory with active re-call and repetition. I look forward to the next lesson. Thank you :)

I'd been nervous about having lessons for months now, but now that I have a Japan trip coming up in 6 months, I finally decided to try. I've been learning for close to 4 years, but while my listening and reading is okay I hadn't done very much practice with speaking and coming up with my own sentences, so I wanted to improve ready for the trip. I've just had a trial lesson with Yukari sensei and she was wonderful! I did forget a lot of things that I initially wanted to say when introducing myself, but she was very patient and very kind. She prepared a lesson with flashcards and videos which was fun! We also did a little bit of role-play at the end which I did find a bit difficult because I could understand but just couldn't think how to respond. I still enjoyed it though, and I'm sure this will get easier over time. I've booked more lessons with her already, and I'm already looking forward to the next one! ありがとうございました、ゆかり先生！！
