My name is Irene, an Italian tutor and PhD candidate with over 10 years of teaching experience. I’ve worked with students worldwide, using dialogue, grammar, reading, writing, and pronunciation to support learners from basic to upper-intermediate levels.
My passion for teaching started from connecting with people from different cultures and seeing their interest in Italian. Helping students achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding, and I can truly say this work inspires me every day.
Before our lesson, feel free to send me a short introduction about your level, goals, and any specific requests so we can make the most of our time together.
Each lesson is fully personalized: we’ll focus on speaking and pronunciation, but I can also support you with writing or editing academic and professional texts. We can discuss topics you enjoy, practice grammar, or simply have a conversation in Italian.
My PhD journey has strengthened my critical thinking and given me a constantly evolving approach to teaching, allowing me to adapt to each student’s needs.

Splendido, come sempre! Grazie mille, Irene. Abbiamo cantato "Volare" insieme, e Irene gave me some tips on diction. Will work on those consonants! :) We also talked about different accents in Italy and many other things, and Irene explained some tricky use of the congiuntivo. Looking forward to the next lesson!

Irene is able to explain the subtle distinctions between what I am trying to say and what I am actually saying. We were speaking in Italian, but her excellent understanding of English meant she knew how to explain in Italian in a way that would make sense to me. Today we went over commands I want to give others.
