I have had two classes with him thus far, and I must say that learning the Amharic alphabet has been a thoroughly rewarding experience. It was, I confess, a rather unexpected choice on my part, one I made only after some hesitation, fearing that acquiring literacy in the script might prove too demanding. Nevertheless, it has turned out to be far more manageable than I had initially anticipated, thanks in no small measure to his guidance. What I appreciate most, however, is the emphasis placed on acquiring a sound pronunciation of each letter from the very outset, one sufficiently accurate to be readily understood.

Hagos is a nice friendly teacher. He is a great choice for a teacher if you want to learn Amharic or Tigrinya!

I had a nice first lesson with ሓጎስ ፀጋይ. Since I am starting from scratch we started with a few letters and basic greetings (: - Happy to continue, it turned out to be not so scary to learn to read 😃
