Hi, I am Finn. I have been living in Germany for thirteen years, where I studied and have been working ever since. My academic background is in journalism and theatre studies. Outside of work, I enjoy dancing, reading, and taking part in theatre performances. These interests keep me connected to language, expression, and culture in many different ways. I taught English in Taiwan for several years and have also been teaching German online for many years since moving to Germany. When I was preparing for the Goethe C1 exam, I managed to pass it within eight months. However, that experience taught me an important lesson: real progress in a language comes from engaging with everyday life, especially through listening and speaking. My strongest focus as a teacher is communication, because I believe that truly internalizing a language means being able to use it naturally. If you want to experience language in a vivid, practical, and lively way, I’d be happy to work with you. What matters most to me is the atmosphere in class. I like to simulate real-life situations with my students, practicing how to express themselves in German in situations they might face or have just experienced. For example, we might talk about a film you just watched and how to describe it in German, or how to handle a situation like a delayed train and how to talk to the service desk about refunds or ticket changes.
