I am a teacher with a bachelors in teaching Chinese as a foreign language, which sets me apart from casual tutors you find on italki. I have had many teachers on Italki (and in real life), and Audrey Ma is one of the best. She always comes prepared with topics, materials, and even textbooks. She makes herself available outside of class to go over my homework or answer questions. During class, she is warm, engaging, and so so helpful in explaining Chinese grammar and vocabulary. Our lessons fly by because they are so fun! I can’t recommend Audrey as a teacher more, and I love learning Chinese with her! I have already studied with her for 3 years and hope to for many more :)

My 9 year old son has been taking Chinese lessons with Teacher Ma for about a month now and his vocabulary is growing really fast. She is a very patient teacher and makes sure to use vocabulary that is relevant and useful. She is also very good at making sure that his pronounciation is correct and knows how to keep him on task. I am confident that he can acquire great language skills this way.

It was a very nice and pleasant first lesson with Audrey Ma. I already learned so many practical phrases and words. We had a short conversation, and it felt very good and fun. The pronunciation was a challenge, but Audrey was very helpful and explained all the tones to me, and we practised the pronunciation a lot. Looking forward to the next lesson. Thank you!

Please please give this teacher a try! This was only my first lesson with Audrey 老師 but she is absolutely wonderful. I have spent a while trying to find a teacher I feel comfortable with on Italki and she is just a breath of fresh air. She is so encouraging and I felt like I was talking most of the time, unlike other teachers who chatter away at you. She seems so knowledgeable and our conversation was natural, the time just flew by! I learned so much and can’t wait to learn more.
