I was born and grew up in Gifu prefecture in Japan, but I am living in US for 20+ years. Currently I am living in New York. I like to teach Japanese but at the same time, I like to learn other languages too. Currently I am learning French. New Info: Please note that the lesson fee will be raised $2.00 for 30min, $2.50 for 45min & $3.00 for 60min from August 2024. If you want to take some lessons from me, please take advantage of the package of the current price. I regularly teach Japanese by doing the language exchange with other language learners on italki. By teaching, I realize that Japanese is very unique language, and I found teaching the language is more and more interesting. I would like to help more people interested in the language by being a teacher here on italki. In my lesson, I would like to focus more on conversation. I am a language learner by myself, and I feel more enjoyable when I can communicate with the language. Japanese is not the easy language, but I would like to help other people feel the same enjoyment.

very patient and accommodating, I feel I forget too often so I worry I can be a stressor but I don't feel bad like I would in school. I'm very comfortable and happy with My lessons here!

Nami was very friendly and patient, so as the class went on I felt more confident to speak in Japanese with her! She asked lots of questions which was perfect for me because I struggle to think of answers quickly so this was the best practice and she was very helpful when teaching me new phrases that I struggled with. If you’re a little shy and nervous about speaking Japanese then Nami is the perfect teacher for you!
