I’ll help you speak comfortably! 안녕하세요! 한국어 선생님 지은입니다. 저는 한국에서 태어났고, 대학교에서는 컴퓨터 공학과 경영학을 전공했습니다. 지금은 미국에서 13년 째 가족과 함께 살고 있어요. 미국에 와서는 4년동안 한국어 영어 번역을 했고, 그 뒤에는 한국인이지만 미국에 살면서 한국어를 못하는 아이들에게 한글학교에서 한국어를 5년간 가르쳤습니다. Hello! My name is Jieun, and I’m a Korean language teacher. I was born in Korea and studied Computer Engineering and Business Administration at university. I’ve been living in the U.S. with my family for 13 years. During this time, I worked as a Korean–English translator for four years. After that, I taught Korean for five years at a weekend school to children who grew up in the U.S. and didn’t have the chance to learn Korean. 제가 미국에 와서 생활하며 느낀 점이 있어요. 언어를 배우려면 많이 듣고, 따라하고, 문장을 스스로 만들어보는 게 젤 중요하다는 점이예요. 언어는 긴장된 분위기에서는 잘 늘지 않아요. 말이 잘 안나오면 기다려 드릴께요. (물론 중간중간 고쳐드릴수 있구요.) 이해가 안되면 여러번 말해드릴께요. I’ve realized something from living in the U.S.: the best way to learn a language is to listen a lot, repeat, and try making sentences on your own. Language skills don’t improve well in a tense or stressful environment. If you have trouble speaking, I’ll give you time to find the words. (Of course, I can also help correct you along the way.) And if you don’t understand something, I’ll explain it as many times as needed. 제 수업에서는 여러분의 한국어 레벨에 맞는 자료들 예를들어 짧은 글, 비디오을 가지고 이야기 해보고 새로운 표현을 배워보고, 그 표현들로 여러분들이 직접 말해보는 연습을 할꺼예요. 저와 함께 편안하고 재미있는 한국어 수업해봐요! I have taken quite a few classes with Jieun and I have enjoyed every single class. She is always extremely patient and always explains vocabulary that is new as well as gives examples when learning new grammar.
