Ciao! I'm Paola, I'm an Italian freelance worker, singer and radio host and I'm on italki to help you speak and pronounce Italian properly and naturally. I was born in the North of Italy, but my accent is neutral, so it won't be difficult for you to understand what I say. I strongly believe that language learning can make the world a better place by bringing people together, as it is not just a matter of grammar and pronunciation, but also of culture, customs and traditions. I feel blessed to have the opportunity to learn so many things about the world's most diverse cultures while teaching my own language. About me: I'm really interested in music, cinema, food, cats and learning English.

教学经验

I've been teaching on italki since November 2016 and over the years I developed a very flexible method, which allowed me to teach to students of any level and with different goals, preferences and needs. During our lessons, I'll always try to create a relaxed atmosphere so you can feel at ease and have fun while learning. I usually conduct my lessons in Italian as much as I can, so you get used to it, but I can also use English if you like.

As a learner myself, I will do my best to make you feel at ease: relaxed atmosphere, no pressure at all and a little bit of humour, which never hurts. Lessons will be built on your specific needs: conversation, small talk, discussion on various topics, useful phrases for travel, but also reading, listening, pronunciation and grammar, when needed. I'll correct your mistakes, however I'll always be very careful not to interrupt your speech flow. In the last few minutes of each lesson I will give you an overall feedback (and homework, if you like) and we'll decide together a topic for the next lesson.

Another excellent lesson with Paola, as always. It's a pleasure to pass an hour in conversation together, and she still manages to smile as I butcher this beautiful language with my efforts! Having said that, I have come a long way with her guidance. When we started, my knowledge of Italian was very poor, but I can now talk with some confidence for more or less the full hour. A remarkable achievement for which Paola deserves a lot of credit! Sure, I have to put in some work between lessons, but seeing the results during our lesson makes it so worthwhile. She is great at conversation and the chat never dries up. It's like talking to an old friend. Thank you Paola. I look forward to exploring in new directions with you, wherever they take us.

Paola is a wonderful Italian teacher; she pushes me to speak at my best level, but when talking with her I never feel intimidated by the fear of making a mistake. Instead the words tend to flow freely as if I were speaking with a longtime friend. I look forward to our lessons and I highly recommend her to those who are looking for an Italian teacher.

My first lesson with Paola was excellent. She was able to quickly gauge my ability, and to tailor our conversation accordingly. That is to say, she speaks to you at a level that she knows you’ll be comfortable with. She’s very organized in her approach, and has useful suggestions as to how to structure her lessons with you (as well as how to improve your Italian on your own). However, she’s also very flexible and willing to tailor the lessons to the needs of the student. Finally, she’s very skilled at keeping the conversation moving along, which is very important for someone like me, who is still struggling with getting up to speed. An hour with Paola will fly by for you. My first lesson has motivated me to work even harder towards my goals, and I’m already looking forward to our next lesson. I highly recommend her!
