Sayuri

Sayuri is an excellent teacher who I have had the pleasure of taking lessons with for almost three years. She is very gifted in teaching Japanese grammar, as well as very easy-going and easy to have conversations with in Japanese. She is also very flexible, and structures the lessons around the student. When I need to practice grammar we practice with her materials and if it’s the JLPT we focus on listening practice. Perhaps most important of all, we have practiced the Japanese needed for real-life situations. Today, she helped me prepare for an interview. Practicing the Japanese needed for interviews, city office visits, or any other real-world scenarios has been extremely helpful for my Japanese learning. Thanks to Sayuri, I have not only developed my Japanese ability, but I have also become better adapted to life in Japan. Whether you are looking to improve your Japanese speaking and understanding, or want to prepare for living in Japan, I recommend Sayuri-sensei.

Enjoyed another interactive lesson filled with opportunities to practice my verbal Japanese. It's such an important asset in my study for me to put what I learned in my own time. Despite me being sluggish, sensei stuck with me and helped to better express myself while keeping the conversation afloat. Appreciate this practice opportunity weekly since I started this a couple months ago, it has been a very rewarding journey.

Sayuri Sensei is an experienced professional teacher and she is extremely knowledgeable, capable, and versatile in lesson methods. She is cheerful, kind, and patient. And her English is absolutely fluent. That is important for me because I am a low level Nihongo student and Sayuri can explain complex and subtle details about Japanese language, culture, society, etc., using English when needed. I highly recommend her.

Sayuri Sensei is always super helpful and is very engaging in conversation. She is funny and very knowledgeable and she is great at providing examples when explaining new concepts. I always learn something new every lesson! I highly recommend her!!

Sayuri sensei is always incredibly helpful. She is a great conversationalist and tailors the lesson to your needs. She does a good job balancing instruction and correction with natural conversation flow. She remembered me even when a long time had a passed between lessons. I couldn't recommend her enough.
