Hello! I’m Youssef, a native Arabic teacher and English instructor with 20+ years of experience. I’m also a PhD researcher in language acquisition, specializing in Arabic in particular, as well as interference from Arabic into English at the syntactic and morphological levels. This helps me understand learners’ challenges deeply. My teaching is based on learner psychology, focusing on speaking from day one with minimal teacher talk. Youssef is a fantastic teacher because he is patient and encouraging. I don't stress about making mistakes because he gives corrections in a kind way. Also, if I'm not sure how to say something, he helps me think through it by asking me questions I do know the answer to. Through this approach, I can still often find the answer through my own understanding which is helping me build confidence in the language. It is very rewarding to have lessons with Youssef, and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to improve their Arabic.

Very efficient, humorous, and encouraging teacher. Each lesson introduces a new concept while building on previous ones, so I don't feel overwhelmed and I'm now starting to speak in longer sentences :-)
