That I consistently choose Lars as my teacher comes as no surprise: he's acutely aware of verbal and written nuances, knows his grammar through and through and doggedly reminds you of your mistakes to help you along the bumps on your journey to fluency and beyond.

Lars is an excellent conversation partner. He has an impressive ability to keep the conversation flowing and engaging without seeming either to control it or to put the pressure on the student. When I started iTalki I worried about filling an entire hour with second-language chat, but our lessons fly by. His corrections are targeted and encouraging.

Lars is an excellent German teacher. He is informative, patient, and very clear in his explanations. He teaches both formal and informal German in a way that makes everything easy to understand. He knows a lot about accents/pronunciation. Highly recommend!

Lars is very personable and gives you important cultural information! His style tends towards more conversational (ie: listening to/reading conversations). I prefer a style that includes introduction of individual verbs with their conjugations and I requested this of Lars on the third lesson. He immediately reformatted our lessons to include this aspect, which shows how adaptable he is to student needs! Since I am learning German for a trip, he is focusing on aspects that I might encounter: ordering in a cafe, shopping at markets/stores, etc. Lars corrects your pronunciation and grammar in written and spoken form so that you will be understood by native speakers. He is direct, but exceptionally polite as well!
