Hello ambitious language learners, welcome to my profile:)
My name is Manaka, feel free to me Manaka-sensei (sensei means "teacher" in Japanese).
I'm from the Yokohama city, near Tokyo, so I speak standard Japanese.
I lived in the UK for two years for my university degree and now I live in Nepal for work:)
As I have lived in foreign countries I have been exposed to lots of different languages and cultures.
Recently, I am studying French and Chinese mandarin. I believe learning foreign languages is an amazing experience which lets you see another world!教学经验
The most important thing for my lessons is communication. I do lessons based on your needs, strengths and weaknesses instead of lecture-style lessons.
I have the certificate of official Japanese teacher as well as 5 years experience as volunteer Japanese teacher. This is my 4th year teaching on italki and I have had amazing experiences.
As I have been learned several languages myself, I understand the difficulties of starting to learn a new language. Therefore, I try to make the lessons enjoyable so that you can continue learning.

I offer you different types of lessons based on your level, strengths and weaknesses, and goal.
Please have a look at the pages for each lesson for the details.
I use google documents to keep track of your lesson schedule, share your quizzes and essays. You will also have some opportunities to communicate with other students.
If you are taking my lesson for the first time, go for the trial lesson or the 30-minute conversation lesson, if you have run out of your trial lessons. We will do a quick level check and decide your learning plan. After that, you will be able to book any types of lessons or purchase packages.

I've been studying Japanese since the start of February this year and without Manaka Sensei i wouldn't be anywhere near where i am. I still have a very long way to go, but i honestly couldn't image having a better teacher. She is extremely knowledgeable, very patient and she adapts lessons to your needs. She is very organised, professional and polite. Thank you sooooo much Manaka Sensei!!! I look forward to many more lessons to come.

Manaka-san is a FANTASTIC teacher! If you are looking for an excellent Japanese teacher to study search no further. She is VERY patient and KIND correcting all my mistakes and explains everything very clearly to me. She goes above and beyond when it comes to teaching! Very awesome teacher! Alot of fun! とても楽しかった!
