Hello everyone! I am Marlena from Beijing, so I speak standard Mandarin Chinese. When I was 15, I moved to England and since then I have been living abroad during the last 15 years. Besides Great Britain, I have also lived or worked in Germany, Japan, USA and Spain. Thanks to my experiences and passion to learn foreign cultures, I also speak German (C2), English (C2), Spanish (C1) and Japanese (C1). I am a freelance translator and I have also worked at a sport marketing company in Germany. 皆さん，こんにちは！私はまれなと申します。中国語(ネイティブレベル)とドイツ語(C2レベル)と英語(C2レベル)を教えます。スペイン語(ビジネスレベル)や日本語(ビジネスレベル)も話せます。日本の文化や言語が大好きです。次は、日本で働く予定です。これから、よろしくお願いします。

As I have been living in many countries, I have always worked as a private tutor to teach my foreign friends and contacts Chinese and at the same time, teaching my Chinese friends German or English. I am a very communicative, organised and open person, so I often encourage my students to keep practicing. Don't be afraid to make mistakes! Also, in my opinion, it is very important for me to know the needs of my students so that I can do my best to prepare materials, videos, documents before lessons to keep my students motivated! 友達に日本語を教えた経験があって、外国のビジネス関係者や友人に中国とドイツ語のレッスンをした経験もあります。レッスンの前に、あなたの中国語かドイツ語のレベルを聞かせていただきいて、できるだけあなたのレベルに応じて授業を差し上げます。

As I have started to learn Spanish from knowing absolute nothing to C1 only with italki teachers, beside the language itself, I have also learned many different and great ways of teaching. Based on the needs of each student, we can practice conversation and talk about a topic you like or I will explain a specific grammar points to you. On the other hand, if the student prefers that I prepare a conversation class, I will look for videos, audios, pictures, text etc to help my students to reach their objectives. I feel very lucky to have found Marlena on Italki for my German lessons! She is very knowledgable about the language, and the fact that she is so experienced in learning foreign languages gives her a great understanding of how to approach a target language. Most importantly for me, Marlena is very open and easy to talk to. I have been taking lessons five times per week for more than a month now, and Marlena continues to have topics for us to talk about so that I am always practising speaking while learning new vocabulary and new grammar concepts as they come up. I really feel that I've progressed so much with her! I highly recommend Marlena as a language teacher :) Merci Marlena! Having mastered German as an adult, Marlena has a high degree of grammatical competence that the average native speaker may lack. With this advantageous perspective, Marlena can concisely answer questions regarding both how and why. Anecdotally, I feel much more confident using Konjuntiv II since our lesson on the topic. Also, the exercises she provided me with helped me solidify my knowledge on my own time. While many students may believe the optimal language tutor to be a native speaker, my experience learning German with Marlena has indicated the exact opposite. Ich würde sie als Lehrerin gerne empfehlen:)

Marlena is a super kind and very supportive teacher. The lessons are always well organized, challenging and fun and a really good combination of conversation and grammar feedback. When I struggle to find the right words for something I want to say she patiently give me the time to think and encourages me to express myself. And this is highly motivating ! Marlena ist eine sehr sympathische und kompetente Lehrerin. Sie kann sehr verständlich erklären. Die Unterrichtsstunden mit ihr sind gut organisiert, herausfordernd, aber auch lustig - und das ist meiner Meinung nach die beste Kombination für erfolgreiches lernen. Nach jeder Stunde bin ich super motiviert, was will man mehr ?!

Marlena como profesora es francamente recomendable. Ella es atenta, inteligente y muy motivadora. Se adapta y preocupa enormemente por los intereses del alumno, tiene una actitud positiva y no hay duda que ama enseñar. Su apoyo incluso sobrepasa el tiempo de las clases, ella ha sido muy flexible, y si no fuera por su incondicional apoyo, yo no hubiera podido retomar mis clases de chino on-line. Gracias Marlena!
