Jason did a great job of teaching the global strategy behind the Writing section in IELTS and shared lots and lots of tips&tricks that are useful to get to the higher bands. It definitely helped to understand what is actually expected from you to score higher in writing. Moreover, he did a good job in preparation for the lesson, based on my needs, personalizing everything for me.

I would like to pay your attention that Jason is a brilliant English teacher, who may also consult you on matters related to interviews, academic writing, university admission, scholarships, etc. Initially, I was specifically looking for a teacher who can prepare me both for Duolingo English Test (DET) and TOEFL. Jason was able to do that in quite a short time. Moreover, since I applied for the US Fulbright scholarship he helped with interviews, writing sample and some other related things. My Duolingo result is 125. I am taking TOEFL soon and I intend to get at least 100 points out of 120. I also would like to note that he was not limiting our interactions to the hours of classes that I bought, in addition to this time he reviewed my written assignments, he was looking for and sent various home assignments or information I requested.

Jason is awesome! I’m aiming for Band 8–9 in IELTS Writing, and learning from a former IELTS examiner has been a really valuable experience. Jason really knows his stuff. What I like most is how detailed his explanations are. He explains the differences between Band 8 and Band 9 in a very clear and easy-to-understand way. Even when he uses more advanced language or terminology, he immediately explains it if I don’t understand. As a non-native English speaker, I really appreciate that. He knows how to adjust his explanations to my level instead of simply throwing complicated terms at me. He also goes through my essays in great detail. He marks my writing carefully, explains why something is wrong or could be improved, and discusses different ways to make my writing stronger. We actually talk through the essay together rather than just looking at the corrections. He’s also willing to spend extra time with me when I need more explanation, which I really appreciate.
