Hi! I’m Carl, a certified English teacher with 15+ years of experience—specializing in IELTS, Cambridge exams, and confident communication. I’ve taught professionally in 6 countries (Azerbaijan to Mexico!) and understand the challenges learners face. Whether you need to ace an exam, master tricky grammar, or just chat naturally, I’ll help you build the skills—and confidence—to succeed. Fun fact: I’ve visited 40+ countries, so ask me about British culture, travel stories, or why native speakers sound so fast! Let’s make learning rewarding.
I have a wide range of teaching experience- I especially enjoy goals-focused lessons such as exams. I have over 15 years' experience in planning and delivering IELTS and Cambridge exam classes. I have worked for prestigious universities in both the UK and overseas. I can give you the confidence you need! I particularly enjoy explaining difficult grammar and pronunciation problems, and I love to be challenged in this area. I can help you with functional language and conversational fluency. I can also help you with the difference between different dialects and accents, and I can explain to you just why it is sometimes just so DIFFICULT to understand what native speakers are saying.

I wanted to learn British English pronunciation and accent, so I took his accent reduction course. Carl was very thorough and explained the meaning of schwa sounds and British phonetics to me. It was a very useful lesson. I strongly recommend him as a professional teacher.

I have been having English lessons with Carl for more than a year on a regular weekly basis.
I am extremely satisfied with his methods. Most of the time, half of the lesson consists of an interesting talk about various topics, including British culture, different accents, comedy, films, and travel. He always corrects or suggests a better alternative in order to sound better.
Another half of the lesson is doing real tests together - his input is very helpful. He always explains right away if something is needed. Most importantly, we also had a few lessons related to phonetics and accents. It was very interesting to know how native speakers speak and what sounds are produced in their regular speech.
I can recommend Carl to every English learner. He is a professional teacher with tremendous experience in helping to improve English on every level.

I have completed over 120 English lessons with Carl and the experience has been excellent. Our lessons are highly conversational, covering a wide range of topics, which makes learning both engaging and practical.
Carl is professional, patient, and attentive, and he always corrects me when I make mistakes, providing clear guidance and constructive feedback. The lessons are well-structured yet flexible, allowing for natural conversation while steadily improving my fluency and confidence in English.
