I've had David for lessons for both Russian and Georgian. He has really helped my Russian go from low B1 to close to C1. His lessons are always helpful and fun. He does a great job challenging you to grow and do better. As for Georgian, he is creating his own textbook that is so professional-looking and user-friendly. I highly recommend David as a teacher for both Russian as well as Georgian.

I have been using Dato’s services on and off for more than 5 years. I have used iTalki a lot over the years and have often found it difficult to find a “click”. Our lessons don’t feel forced and this has helped me continue my journey to fluency in a way that books or apps couldn’t possibly do. Remember that languages are spoken by real humans and not bots. That’s why I chose iTalki and why I stick with David. When Georgians ask me how I learned their language, I mention David (Dato). You will easily develop a friendship with this teacher, because he makes you feel comfortable from the beginning and let you speak without judgment. His hours of tutoring have made a big impact on my language skills and with consistent work, anyone can reach their goals. I love how he structures his lessons, while leaving some space for spontaneity if we touch a fascinating topic. Many times I was not in a mood to have a lesson, felt not good enough, but David found a way to cheer me up and make me believe in myself again. Language mastery is a long-term process. After weeks of learning, we went over past content and addressed discrepancies in my learning. This is a big part of the reason David is such a good teacher, it feels like we aren't skipping or rushing steps, and are learning properly.
