My name is Jenny, and I am from California in the United States. I am currently looking for new students. I love to travel and have been to over 20 countries. I especially love to explore National Parks. I also like to go diving and spend time on islands. When I'm not exploring, I'm usually cooking up some delicious foods. I just graduated from UC Berkeley where I was studying Anthropology and Archaeology. I am patient and kind, and I love being a teacher!
NOTE: I have lowered my rates until March 2023. after that, they will go up by $2 an hour.教学经验
I used to teach kids and business English on the Galapagos Islands of Ecuador. Before that, I was teaching in Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore & Thailand! I have also taught Business ESL online to Japanese students for several years and have been teaching online and with italki since Nov. of 2018.
I love teaching English and meeting new people. I am dedicated to helping you improve your English, and lessons with me are different for every student. I make the lesson for you! Just tell me what you need or want, and together we will make it happen.

2018 - 2018
ESL TeacherThis was a full-time teaching position for 6 months at a lnaguage academy. I taught 5 - 1 hour long classes daily. I taught 2 beginner classes for children aged 6-12. I also taught 2 teenager classes. One teenage class was upper intermediate / Cambridge Exam prep in Gateway textbooks, and the other was lower intermediate with a focus on English for everyday life. Finally, I had a one-to-one class teaching Business English to a 55-year-old man in the tourist industry.
2016 - 2020
ONLINE BUSINESS ESL TEACHERI have been teaching online business ESL with this company since 2016. I teach business ESL to adults who are mainly business executives or working in scientific fields. Some students work from a textbook, but others ask me to create a lesson for them which I do happily! This job was how I learned all about online teaching, and what gave me the confidence to join ITALKI. It is also one of my favorite jobs becuase I love getting to know all my super smart and succesful students!

ESL TeacherI have worked for this company seasonally since 2016. It is a kid's English summer and winter camp program. I usually go here in between whatever else I am doing and work for a couple of months while getting to eat all of the lush food Taiwan has to offer! I love working with the kids here. It's the most tiring job I think I have ever had, but also one of the most rewarding. This is also where I really learned how to teach English to kids.My formal CELTA training was aimed at adult learners only

ESL TEACHERThis was an ESL winter Camp held in Malaysia for students from Korea. I was the art, drama, dance, and singing ESL teacher! I taught 6 classes per day with about 25 students in each class. The ages ranged from 5 years old up to 18! The kids were amazing, and always willing to join in, and do all the crazy things I planned for them. They started out shy and barely speaking but by the end of the season they were speaking so much! It was a wonderful and rewarding job that I will always remember.

ESL TeacherI taught classes daily during my CELTA course in Chaing Mai. I taught Beginner English, and also Upper Intermediate to small classrooms of about 8-12 students. Each class was observed by a qualified instructor and my peers. I was given feedback on each lesson and I learned a lot about how to be a better teacher during my time here. I base my teaching style upon what I learned while in training for my CELTA.

Hospitality ManagerPrior to becoming an ESL teacher, I was a General Manager in the hospitality industry for many years. I worked in various National Parks ( Yosemite, Glacier, Denali, etc) in the United States and also at a Marine Park in Malaysia. My time managing resorts was incredible, and why I enjoy teaching business English now!

Human Resources AssociateI worked as a Human Resources Associate for two years at Glacier National Park. I was responsible for hiring the seasonal summer staff each winter. I personally hired thousands of people and performed even more interviews. I also volunteered at the Blackfeet Indian Reservation and helped the local community to create resumes and prepare for interviews.

Business / Young Learner / Job Skills ESL TeacherI have been teaching online with Italki since 2018. I have focused on teaching Business English, but have also taught beginners, and young learners.
My lessons are individually planned for each student and each lesson comes with a set of online flashcards for the students to use after the lesson.

Great first impression. She creates very positive atmosphere. We had an interesting conversation today and she knows how to hold a discussion on variety of subjects. She is professional, helpful and always smiling. She responds to individual needs and provides the appropriate support and programme. I just can`t wait for our next lesson.

I've run quite a lot of classes with various teachers but Jenny is the only one I keep doing with until now. I felt she is very sincere to students. It depends on what kind lesson style do you want though. Even if I ask more questions outside the lesson, She gives me sincere answers. And I felt we really DISCUSS with different kinds of topics. She is so kind and friendly. I used to find an only FRIENDLY teacher but some teachers show me overreactions. So, at that point, Jenny makes me feel comfortable with natural reactions. But, her classes are a little bit expensive more than other teachers and no discount but nevertheless I'll keep this class with her.
