I built a solid foundation in the Korean language at a pace that was comfortable for me. Dylan takes time to make sure you understand the material and answers any questions you may have. I never felt discouraged or embarrassed in these classes. If I struggled with pronunciation, concepts, or word choice, Dylan would kindly explain things and steer me in the right direction so that I would understand. I was given plenty of options to practice concepts and speak both in class and on my own. This helped me develop confidence in my sentence construction and conversation skills. I feel like I am really understanding and progressing in learning Korean. I wouldn’t have been able to do that without his help so I am very thankful.

I have been studying Korean with Dylan for more than a year. I had no prior experience with an Asian language, and while I had learned other non-Roman alphabets for work reasons, I was truly at ground zero when we began. Dylan has patiently and methodically guided me from learning the alphabet to conjugating verbs in different tenses to forming simple sentences to reading elementary texts to improving my auditory processing. I appreciate Dylan's flexibility as some days he must pivot and review a previous grammar point with me rather than moving onto a new topic. I also admit to being a challenging student due to my age and profession yet he is always upbeat, professional, and prepared with engaging, structured, and creative lessons and homework.

I cannot believe I have been studying with Dylan for over a year now! Studying with Dylan every lesson we do a new journal entry and this has been a great way to track my progress over the last year. My Korean has improved so much over the last year I cannot believe it. Dylan's awesome. He's a very flexible teacher with whom you can focus on the topics or grammar that you desire to learn. Likewise, he's very comfortable leading lessons if you'd like guidance. Regardless of the subject, he knows how to fill it with fun and engaging learning opportunities. He writes down everything we say in class, kindly corrects mistakes, and recommends words that would sound more natural. With a simple google or youtube search, he shows plenty of ways the newly introduced concepts are used in real life. He even sends thoughtful assignments after class which help accelerate my learning even more. I feel very comfortable in class with him and adore having lessons with him each week. I can happily recommend him to anyone!
