Friendly and Experienced French Mothertongue Teacher Hi everyone! My name’s Nico, I am French yet I am the only one in my family who was born in France. Indeed, I was raised by a Venezuelan dad and a Spanish mother. I therefore grew up in a multicultural background, which spurred me to learn and teach foreign languages. After my 18th birthday, I moved to the UK where I stayed for 5 years, and obtained a teaching certificate (PTTLS) as well as worked as a French teacher. I then moved to Spain where I graduated in languages, and eventually moved to Italy where I’ve been living and working as an English and French teacher for Italian and international companies. Apart from teaching, I am a Shiatsu practitioner, and I love hiking in the mountains. From my experience, I have realized that most of my students who struggle with learning languages do so because of bad memories from school that led to low self-confidence. Plus, their fear of making mistakes adds up tension and impedes them from enjoying the whole process. That’s why my main priority, as a teacher, is to teach students the right approach to speaking without fear of making mistakes, and if the fear does arise, how to welcome it and relax into it. As a firm believer that communicating in a relaxed and simple way is more important than speaking perfectly at all cost, I make my students practice a lot on listening and conversation.
