Hello, everyone! I am Elena. I am from Guangzhou, a city in south China.
My Chinese name is Jiaxian; I am a native speaker of Mandarin and Cantonese.
I have been working as a language school teacher in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English for over five years. I mainly teach international students. In the classroom, I teach the language and share cultural and historical knowledge.教学经验
I already have 7 years of experience in online teaching, with certification to teach Chinese and English to adults and children. Also, I have completed IELTS teacher training courses with a certificate.
When I was in New Zealand for a working holiday a few years ago, I realized that learning their language is always the best way to know more about different cultures. That's why I want to help people who learn about the Chinese language and culture. I used to work in the retail and management industry and enjoy communicating with people. We would have many topics for our conversation, such as travel, business, daily life, etc. I hope my class can make you feel comfortable practicing as much as possible.

Today, we just talked about our day and the past week, music, and movies. Whenever I didn't know a word, my teacher would tell me and write it down for me, as usual. Her teaching style is great.

We started off by talking about our holiday, which gave me plenty of opportunities to practice my Cantonese. Then we moved on to the reading material for practice questions, which gave me opportunities to formulate answers in Cantonese. Whenever I didn't know a word, I would ask my teacher, and she would let me know the word and write it down for me. Her teaching is great, and she is very patient.
