Certified Spanish Teacher| I help you actually SPEAK | All levels + personal Hi, I'm Yus. 👋 I'm a certified Spanish teacher, with almost 6 years of experience. Back in Venezuela I was studying law, and later in Colombia I started psychology neither one I got to finish, because life had other plans (a migration and a pandemic, in that order). I didn't plan on becoming a teacher but the day I realized I could have a terrible day, sit down with a student, and feel genuinely happy, I knew I'd found my thing. Languages have been a big part of my life too. I speak Spanish, Portuguese, and English although English and I had a complicated, on-and-off relationship for years. We've broken up, gotten back together. We're in our best moment now. So when a student tells me "I'm scared of making mistakes," I'm not just nodding politely I know exactly what that feels like. I was born in Venezuela and raised between two cultures (Venezuela and Colombia). Life has taken me through Ecuador, Peru, Spain, and now Portugal, where I live. I collect ways of speaking, expressions and culture that I bring into our classes because Spanish isn't one flat thing, it's alive and it changes from country to country. I love working with students who want to actually move forward. — Can show up for at least one class a week. — Has a bit of time between classes to review and do the exercises I send. Yusmary is a pleasure to have a lesson with. She is great at carrying the conversation. She is always creative and fun.
