Alicia Domenech

I have been taking lessons with Alicia for about nine months, so I can attest to the fact that she is an excellent teacher. She is always prepared and gives clear explanations. Classes are interesting and we cover a wide range of topics. I have really improved in all four language skills and am looking forward to continuing lessons. If you're looking for a teacher to take you to the next level in your Spanish journey, look no further. I admit I was a bit nervous to have lessons exclusively in Spanish considering the level I started at (A1) but it really is the best way to learn. You'll definitely improve by having Alicia as a teacher.

Qué clase tan excelente. Alicia simpre llega a la clase preparada, y muchas veces me manda un tema de conversación de antemano para prepararme. Las lecciones son al menos un nivel más que mi nivel actual, lo que me reta para mejorar. Ella simplemente es una excelente maestra, y quieres mejorar tu español, debes programar una clase con ella.

I have never spoken this much Spanish in an hour and that made me feel amazing. This was what an ideal ‘conversation lesson’ should be like for learners to practice speaking. Alicia guided me through the conversation and helped me when I needed. We talked about inventions, superstitions, and traditions in Spain and Hong Kong. I’ve never thought about using Spanish to talk about superstitions as I thought it would be difficult. It turned out to be enlightening and interesting. I learned a lot about Spanish cultures while sharing those from my origin.

I HIGHLY recommend Alicia as a Spanish teacher. She's engaging, witty, professional, always on time, and has a lot of materials that she uses to customize lessons based on your desired focus or needs. She can work with students of all levels and she's very patient along the way. As a relative beginner in Spanish (I took Spanish in high school), working with Alicia (native Spain speaker) feels like being in an immersive experience, which has been a much faster way to learn. I've seen my Spanish improve very quickly by working with her 1-2x per week for the last 3 months.

Alicia is pushing my boundaries in my Spanish learning and I completely enjoyed the conversation. The material we discussed was not easy but I could fully engage in the lesson with advanced preparation. There were words I didn’t understand, and I was glad that I understood even when Alicia explained those words using Spanish. I always feel very comfortable and confident to speak with Alicia as she always waits for me and rectify my mistakes.

Alicia is very talented in hosting a conversation. Even though my speaking skills are not good and I hesitate a lot, she is able to maintain the conversation naturally. When I am struggling to form a sentence, Alicia always waits for me and tries to understand me. Her materials are also very informative and helpful in learning vocabulary. I enjoy reading the articles written by her.
