Hello everyone 👋 I am from the mainland of China and can speak standard Mandarin with no accent. My hometown is a small city near Beijing and I spent four years in Canton for uni. I am enthusiastic about cultural differences. That’s why as a person from the northern part I chose to study in Canton for a while. I finished my master in the UK. Now doing PhD in the Netherlands. For hobbies, reading books (about history, art, philosophy, society, literature, etc. ), drawing, photo shooting, gym, swimming, movies, exhibitions, cooking. I am open-minded to all questions/topics. Hope can be a helper in your language learning journey :) P.S. NO INTERESTED IN DATING ANYONE HERE, THX :)教学经验
I got a Mandarin qualification certificate during undergraduate study. Before that I worked as a volunteer Chinese teacher for a year to help kids with their homework. I have been an online Mandarin tutor since March 2020, during this time I gained more experience. I am quite patient and easygoing. My teaching materials will base on students’ need (exam, hobby, work etc.) Besides, I will add appropriate exercises to help students consolidate what they have already learned.
No matter having classes or not, I will always happy to answer questions about Chinese culture or language learning. Hope through this platform I can let more people know about China :)我提供的课程和我的教学风格
My teaching style is relaxed and humorous. Teaching content will be adjusted based on the students' level. Beginners will focus more on listening and speaking, like pronounce four tones properly. For higher-level students, it focuses on the better choice of expression and wording, and I will intersperse the explanation of Chinese culture. My lesson will contain not only the standard Chinese but also the current Internet terms and slang words to help students learn the most authentic Chinese.

Cadence prepared the lesson based on some materials I wanted to use. She was organized, thoughtful, and able to adjust when I had questions or difficulties. We were able to practice both speaking and reading. She is also very good at calibrating the speed/difficulty of her spoken Chinese according to your level. Great teacher, highly recommend!

Highly recommended. Chatting with Cadence was very relaxed, it was like chatting with an old friend and having a good catch up. I especially like talking about abstract things with Cadence, things like theories, principles and future goals.
