I graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1998. I got my TEFL certificate in Barcelona in 2002.
I lived in the United States most of my life. I liked living there, but I wanted to see the rest of the world. I moved to Spain in 2002 and lived there for around a year. I moved to Japan in 2004, and have been living here ever since.
I have studied Spanish and am currently studying Japanese.
I'd say my main hobby is just studying life. I like looking into how things work. I love learning about people and how they think and react to the world around them.
I also like playing guitar and singing. Also, if I have free time, I enjoy watching a good movie.
I have taught all ages of students, from 3 years old to 75, from beginner to advanced, and classes consisting of one student up to classes with 48 students. I have taught English in schools, from preschool to university, in various offices, as well as to many private students. I have prepared students for the TOEFL, TOEIC, EIKEN, B2 First (Cambridge First Certificate), and IELTS.
As a teacher, being able to motivate my students is one of the most important things I can do. I do this by making learning English interesting and by showing students how they can use what they learn in real-life situations.
I have taught all ages of students at all levels of English. I can you improve your English for school, work, or hobby. Whatever reason you have for studying English, I can help you achieve your goals.
