Hi, I’m Lara, a passionate English teacher from Cape Town, South Africa, with 10 years of experience helping students ace exams like IELTS, CAE and TOEFL. My secret? Making learning feel like an adventure, just like my love for travel and exploring cultures!

I am a well-organized professional with proven teaching and guidance skills and over 10 years of experience in the field.
I have worked as a primary school teacher, a special needs facilitator and a high school History and English teacher. The varying levels of my experience allow me to use the right methodology and approach to help you grow confidence while using English.

I like to use a variety of teaching styles to find out what works best for each learner, these include:
Visual - images, flashcards and graphs to spark conversation and improve vocabulary.
Audio - audio clips and short videos that enhance classroom topics.
Written - once writing, I encourage learners to write and practice as much as possible.
Movement - sometimes jumping, clapping and acting helps us learn quicker.
Games - I enjoy turning learning activities into games so that we can learn without even noticing it!

I like to use phonetics (Jolly Phonics) and other fun teaching techniques to encourage good English skills.
