Hello, I’m Kumiko, a Japanese teacher with over 10 years of experience.
I help learners move from correct Japanese to fluent and natural communication.
In my lessons, you will learn useful vocabulary, natural expressions, and practical Japanese for real situations.

Hello. My name is Kumiko.
I help learners improve their communication and expand their Japanese vocabulary through conversation.
I have over 10 years of experience teaching at a Japanese language school, and I am still teaching now.
Because of this, I clearly understand the common difficulties and weaknesses that learners have.
I have lived in Hiroshima, Tokyo, Yokohama, Aomori, Fukuoka, and Kumamoto.
I can also share local culture, travel tips, and everyday life in Japan.

In my lessons, we first have a conversation.
While we talk, I introduce different ways to say the same thing.
In Japanese, there are many ways to make requests or ask questions.
The expression often changes depending on who you are talking to.
If you use the wrong expression, it may sound too direct or even rude to Japanese people.

Kumiko sensei is kind and professional. I took five lessons from her. She was always prompt and took notes during our lessons. She corrected my vocabulary and grammar and explained the difference between my error and the correct word/phrase so it helped me to remember and I could use it properly the next time. I am thinking of taking more lessons with her when I have more time. I would recommend taking her lessons!

Kumiko-sensei is a wonderful teacher. I was nervous about our trial lesson but she is very easy to talk to, nice, and very helpful. I would recommend if you're on the fence about italki consider a trial lesson Kumiko-sensei.
