I’m Danielle, and I’m an English teacher and a native speaker living in Houston, TX, in the United States. I have a bachelor’s degree in English and a Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, commonly known as a CELTA. I’m here to help you improve your English, gain more confidence, and communicate more effectively in real-world situations.
My favorite thing about teaching is hearing stories from my students about how, thanks to the confidence they gained speaking English with me, they were able to meet new friends, interview for new jobs, understand their colleagues better, and experience more while traveling. I wish the same and more for you.
I really enjoy getting to know my students—not only in terms of their linguistic needs and capacities, but also as human beings with interests and experiences vastly different from my own who have a lot to teach me about life and about the world. I welcome diverse viewpoints and I appreciate honesty and humility.
Humility is extremely important when you’re learning, because learning involves making mistakes. I know this can be intimidating, so I will always try to create a safe and familiar space in which you can feel comfortable taking risks and trying new things in English, knowing that if you do make a mistake, I can help you turn it into an excellent learning opportunity.
