Hello! I'm so happy you're here! My name is Nathan and I'm a North American English teacher from the USA, currently living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I've been teaching for almost 11 years now in some capacity whether it be in a classroom with kids, or online with children and adults from all around the world. I love art whether it be music, film, poetry, or any human expression. So, if you like to use your artistic interests as discussion topics, I will happily oblige! My dream for each and every one of my students is that they all feel the freedom and confidence to use English to communicate effectively. Striving for perfection is amazing, but I don't believe perfection needs to be the ultimate goal at all times. As your teacher, I want to empower you to believe that YES, you CAN speak English. Just because something you say isn't exactly like a "native" speaker, doesn't mean you aren't doing an amazing job using your new language. If I could sum up my teaching style in one word for my students it would be: personalized. Tell me about each and every one of your goals, aspirations, and deadlines so that we can work together to get you there as swiftly as possible. Whether that be through worksheets, guided discussions, standardized test prep, or whatever you may need; I'm here! With that being said, I will always give you the necessary feedback for you to progress in key areas.
