Molly

I have taken 59 lessons with Molly. I am a grandmother, four decades older than her. I never cease to be impressed at her intuitive understanding of how to teach and how to learn a language. I have studied two other languages long before I began to learn Irish. And I am a lifelong learner; having taken classes of all kinds, I can spot a person with a talent for teaching. Molly is one of them. She also has a natural talent for languages; she learned Irish mainly in school but speaks fluently. She was always committed to the Irish language. While teaching Irish she is herself studying Spanish and Italian. I have learned so much from her, yet the atmosphere in our classes is always relaxed and they are always enjoyable and fun. I highly recommend her as a teacher.

I enjoy learning with Molly. She is very encouraging and very knowledgeable. She also uses technology so seamlessly during classes, you don't even notice, but aids learning and complements the class flow nicely. Molly helped me to focus on understanding the meaning of what's being said rather than get stuck on each word, and my Irish comprehension grew hugely because of that. I also feel more confident using the language in social settings as the language Molly teaches is real life and every day Irish, rather than text book Irish. And just on top of all that Molly is actually great craic, interested in the world and great company to be around. Absolutely highly recommend her!

Awesome class this week after my brain freeze last week. Molly held an interesting class on a very interesting topic…superstitions. We had a great and funny conversation which really helped to regain my confidence. Hopefully more superstitions next time!!!

I really appreciate how you respond to my needs, how quickly you adapt the lesson, like yesterday when you realized that I hadn't yet learned how to ask questions using irregular verbs. You installed it in a flash before we got on with the topic we worked on. And I also like to talk to you about what's happening around us right now. I really love it that you ask me at the beginning of each class: "Aon scéal?" And then I'm demanded to tell something. And I think that's great, because I'm forced to put what I've experienced into words and try to say it as simply as possible, because my Irish is still at a relatively low level.
