My journey began with a degree in Social Communication (Universidad Javeriana) and a master’s in Journalism (Universidad de los Andes), but it was my love for travel that unlocked my true calling: languages. Now, I help students discover Spanish through the same adventurous lens. Having learned English, French, German, Portuguese and Catalan I'm familiar with language learning processes. Although I have taken courses, I believe most of the process is autonomous. More than a grammar teacher, I would like to be a guide. It's crucial to fall in love with Spanish, which I plan to do with you through classes where I will also show you the exotic and colorful culture, landscapes and people of my wonderful country Colombia! My lessons are based on my own experience as a language learner. They can be customized according to your needs and learning style. This was my first session with Enrique. He is an excellent teacher and a very engaging person. When I make mistakes he doesn’t say “No. Here is the correct way…” I think this is a common method of teaching, and it’s a bad way. Instead, when I made mistakes, he repeated back what I said and gently repeated it back in the right way. I have learned several languages with the help of ITalki, so I know the difference between great, good and bad teachers. And Enrique is great. I will sign up for many, many more lessons with him.
