Every lesson, Marika demonstrates that she is a passionate and dedicated Japanese teacher. She always takes the time to answer my questions about the different nuances of grammar and vocabulary in the news articles we read. Changing one small particle can alter the nuance far more than I realized. She is just as thoughtful in answering my questions about daily conversation. I ask so many questions that it can take up most of class time, but she never tries to rush things along. (In Japanese classes I took elsewhere, I couldn't always ask the detailed questions I wanted to because getting through the material for each lesson was the priority.) Always, Marika goes out of her way to help me understand better and I love that. Sometimes, she will even message me after class with further information.

This was my first lesson with Marika sensei. Marika sensei was very polite and very accommodating. I can imagine it is quite difficult to meet someone and within a few minutes be able to start a productive lesson, but Marika sensei was amazing and our lesson was very productive. Marika sensei's pronunciation and intonation was crystal clear, which is very helpful when doing this type of practice. I am looking forward to having more lessons with Marika sensei. 今日は本当にありがとうございました。また次のレッスンに会いましょう。

Marika is a polite and effective teacher and is open to whatever subject the student wants to talk about during free talk and however the student wishes to structure the lesson. She also does well explaining grammar and associated concepts. Would take Marika sensei again!

Marika先生 is the best of the best! She’s very patient and very helpful. You can definitely improve your Japanese with her! まりか先生は素敵な先生です！おすすめです！とても辛抱強くて、親切に教えてくれます。まりか先生と一緒に勉強すれば、自分の日本語のレベルが絶対に上がります！

Marika-sensei made conversation the whole time and I learned some new phrases, but it sometimes felt a bit stilted or awkward. I would prefer a teacher who seems more engaged and energetic.
