Eriko-sensei is a very effective teacher. After trying numerous Japanese teachers, I decided to work with Eriko-san and in hindsight, it has been a great decision. I have been studying Japanese for 3 years and am a self-learner. Eriko's teaching style has been perfect for me. She has a fantastic knowledge of and materials for Genki and Quartet and other books too. I currently use Quartet 1 and we go at my pace with 2-3 lessons a week, using the textbook, the workbook, the vocabulary book and numerous other references that can recommend based on my needs. Lessons with Eriko-san are relaxed, upbeat, fun and encouraging. For the comprehensive lessons, Eriko-san reviews my homework and makes recommendations for review. For conversation lessons, we use a topic picker and work through a discussion. I can definitely say my Japanese has improved significantly over the last year with Eriko-san. I highly recommend trying a lesson with her during your teacher selection process.

Estoy muy contenta con mi progreso en japonés. :) Las clases son dinámicas, amenas y están bien estructuradas, lo que hace que se avance sin sentir frustración o bloqueo. Eriko siempre ofrece materiales variados que realmente ayudan a entender y practicar el idioma. Además, tiene muchísima paciencia y sabe motivar, lo cual marca una gran diferencia. Después de haber intentado aprender japonés un par de veces en los últimos años sin éxito, por primera vez siento que realmente estoy aprendiendo. ありがとう Erikoさん！

Ya llevo casi un año dando clases con Eriko y solo puedo decir que es una maravilla como profesora y como persona. Se adapta muy bien a mi ritmo, explica todo de forma muy clara y te da ejemplos muy prácticos que te ayudan a entender todo mucho mejor. Pero lo que mas puedo destacar, según mi experiencia, es su gran paciencia. Este año estoy trabajando mucho y no le dedico todo el tiempo que quisiera a estudiar, pero ella siempre me repite las mismas palabras que se me olvidan una y otra vez aunque me las haya repetido ya mil veces. Muchas gracias por todo Eriko, y espero que este sea el primer año de muchos estudiando juntos.

Eriko-sensei is easily my favorite Japanese teacher I have had since I began my journey to learn Japanese 5 years ago (and I have had a few since they either stopped teaching or were not a good fit for me). She is very caring and attentive to the needs of the student and tailors the lesson around what they need to succeed. She is also a very kind person. I highly recommend anyone no matter what level you are at to work with Eriko-sensei as it can only make you better.

Era mi primera clase en italki y no me he sentido en ningún momento incómodo gracias a la personalidad de Eriko. Hemos podido plantear los objetivos y una hoja de ruta a seguir. La media hora se ha hecho muy corta, pero es tiempo suficiente para una primera sesión. Eriko parece una buena profesora con mucha experiencia con quien se puede aprender mucho, así que ya tengo ganas de seguir!

I always enjoy our lessons; they are a mix of conversation and practice. I am still very slow but Eriko sensei shows no signs of impatience and is always super encouraging and flexible!
