👋 Hi, I’m Lanxi, a native Mandarin speaker from Chengdu, Sichuan. 🎓 I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Business from universities in the U.S. 💼 I have a background in finance, which helps me work effectively with adult learners and professionals. 🎥 I also create Mandarin teaching videos on YouTube, focusing on clear explanations and practical usage. 🌟 In my classes, I help you understand how Mandarin actually works and how to use it naturally in real-life situations. I’m a CTCSOL-certified Chinese teacher with over four years of experience teaching one-on-one online. I mainly work with adult learners, including professionals and long-term learners who want to truly understand how Mandarin works. In my lessons, I focus on clear explanations and practical usage, helping you make sense of Chinese sentence structure so what you learn actually sticks. For beginners, we work on functional, everyday topics. For intermediate and advanced students, we explore real-world topics and cultural context. Lessons are flexible and adjusted to your level and goals. I share notes and follow-up materials to support your learning after class.

Lanxi is patient and lovely. We are going through HSK 4A at the moment, and she takes her time to explain grammar (which I struggle with) and also vocabulary, and also expands vocabulary into things that are related to events happening in my life to help me explain more, or things that may interest me such as horoscopes etc. I would highly recommend her ^_^

I have had lessons with Lanxi twice a week for almost 3 years now! I love that we have both book learning, which gives me the foundations, and cultural conversations, which gets me to think on my feet and connect with the words I'm learning, which helps me remember them more!

Lanxi is lovely and patient. I already have background in Chinese (background speaker) but wanted to improve it. We used HSK as a structure to follow and it has been great! We practice speaking a lot and using words to make sentences to help me form connections and also use the phrases properly. She covers grammar too and let's me speak first before correcting when needed. ^_^
