My name is Emilia and I am from Georgia, USA. I have a neutral American English accent and I also speak Spanish fluently. I have lived in several different countries.
De pequeña me mudé a Ecuador con mi familia y ahí me enamoré de la lengua española. Terminé mis estudios superiores en el país y luego comencé a trabajar en el sistema de educación pública del país.
Сейчас я живу в Грузии и учу русский язык. Я люблю изучать языки и знакомиться с новыми людьми.
I began working as a volunteer EFL teacher at a local elementary school in the fall of 2016. Since then, I've worked in the private sector and volunteered in the public sector, tutoring as well as teaching in classrooms. I've worked with all grades from Pre-K3 all the way up to the last year of high school, although I have more experience with preschool and primary school-aged children.
For adults, I can facilitate conversational practice as well as provide guidance for writing documents in English.
In my lessons, I typically use the CLT (Communicative Language Teaching) approach as I feel that it is important for learners to begin communicating in their target language right away. For very young learners, I also use the TPR method (or the Total Physical Response method). This method allows learners to associate language with movements and thereby help them retain what they have learned. This teacher helps student to think about the topic and storytelling. She can share stories and grammars suitable for children and ask questions to let them think. This helps student improving their critical thinking and story telling skills. On the other hand, my little brother started to speak fluently after having class with her, he also shares his experience and opinion to us and shows that she is a good teacher. Keep on up and I highly recommend her.
