I have had many lessons with Niki, and I think she is a great teacher! I am currently a student in America learning Mandarin, and Niki has helped me a lot with speaking, writing, and understanding the language. Furthermore, she is very flexible with the lessons and is always willing to accommodate my studying needs. She has a very creative way of teaching and is always very energetic when teaching, which makes it fun to learn with her. Also, Niki is always willing to share knowledge about Chinese culture, which is very interesting. I have asked her several times to cultivate specific lessons based on what I am studying at my university, and she has always found creative ways to meet my requests. Niki has helped me improve my Chinese speaking a ton and is by far the most significant help to my learning. So, whether you are a beginner or have studied Mandarin for a while, Niki will help you a ton!

Niki is a great teacher who is willing to teach and loves teaching students. Usually our classes go over time because of her enthusiasm which is really great :) I highly recommend her to those who are learning Hokkien or Chinese (Putonghua)

Niki is a great tutor to learn Hokkien from! She prepared materials in advance to cater to my learning objectives and we discussed a lot of topics related to culture as a way to surface new and useful vocabulary

Lessons with Niki are fantastic. I've had many lessons with Niki now, and she has always put a lot of thought into her lessons and provided detailed slide decks with useful vocabulary, and many helpful examples, which she shares at the end of each class. She's very supportive in answering any spontaneous questions I have about Hokkien and provides detailed answers. She was open to trying out alternative formats such as scenarios/role play (e.g. asking for directions, or help if your car has broken down, etc.) Finally, she also makes lessons incredibly fun and engaging, giving opportunities to chat and discuss life in general in Hokkien, and offers a lot of encouragement even if you are struggling to find the right words. Would recommend anyone interested in learning Hokkien / Southern Min to try out lessons with Niki! :)

Nikki is a fantastic teacher and I would recommend her for both beginners and advanced Chinese/Hokkien learners alike. She is very friendly and enjoyable to talk to, so her lessons are always fun. I am particularly grateful for the effort she puts into reviewing written materials before class and preparing lessons upon specialist topics upon request. Highly recommend!
