Hello! I'm a polyglot from Helsinki, raised in a bilingual family with a Finnish father and an English mother. I work and study in different languages. I am knowledgeable about the theory and practical side of foreign language acquisition. I also like to receive and share knowledge about many other fields, such as history, data science and more practical things. My other hobbies are fishing and hawk watching.教学经验
Do you want to practice applying your passive linguistic knowledge? Or are you a beginner looking for guidance? As someone who has tutored pupils from all walks of life, from absolute beginners to advanced learners, I can be of help at any stage.
I can speak both formal and casual Finnish and Swedish, and I recommend that you specify which one you want to practice.
Although I'm quite familiar with grammatical and other theory, I try to teach everything through context to make it meaningful. That way learning is engaging and fun, and it's easier to wrap one's head around things that way. I value that pupil enjoys the learning process and gets to freely choose the conversation topics.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
Mastering a language means learning to connect sounds to their meanings. That means that we need comprehensible content. That may be made possible with illustrations, translated subtitles, or by other means. This is why I endeavour to provide enjoyable, comprehensible content for my pupils. The second stage of acquisition is application. This is where lessons with a tutor come in handy. With me, you can practice output, i.e. speaking and listening, about pretty much any topic. What's important is that you have consumed some related content, in order to have (passive) vocabulary etc. to practice.
I teach in an engaging way, and provide homework to help you properly hone the foreign aspects.我的教学资料

I just finished my 10th lesson with Jerian, and I have to say he is a wonderful Finnish teacher. Jerian is very knowledgeable about the Finnish language, and has interesting teaching materials. He is very patient and empathetic about his students´s needs and wishes. Once I have more time to focus on learning Finnish again, I will continue with him.

I have been learning Finnish with Jerian for several weeks, and he has been a fantastic teacher. He is always well prepared for lessons, provides clear and thorough explanations, and augments the learning experience with a variety of relevant lesson materials. I am also a beginner, and he is very patient.

Jerian's a friendly guy and easy to talk to. Seems quite proper and formal which aint a bad thing if you're used to that sort of demeaner. He provided alot of materials to help me despite that I can't yet speak well in Finnish. -Kiitos!
