Hi everyone! I'm from So Cal and moved to Germany in my early 20s where I married and had 7 children! I've biked across the US, traveled in the US, Mexico, Europe and India. My kids and I settled in Scotland with our 6 cats. I love teaching, I read a lot, I love fantasy and sci fi and write short stories and longer fiction across a variety of genres. My kids and I are Tough Mudders and I have a BA in Humanities and an MLitt in Publishing. My musical tastes range from Bessie Smith, The Beatles, Bill Withers and Bowie to Billie Eilish--and that's just a few of the Bs! I am approachable, flexible and easy going. My students feel at ease learning with me. Their language skills have ranged from none to A1-A2 or higher and have progressed to passing their exams for work, change of country and school GCSEs and Highers. I offer consistent support and kind correction with the goal of continuous language improvement. I teach primarily 1:1 but have also taught small groups in primary schools. I have been teaching online for 2 years with hundreds of classes under my belt. I'm additionally trained in Montessori education, have 350 hours at TEFL: Exam Prep, Bus. English, Young Learners; CIOL, CIEP, PVG from Disclosure Scotland and experience giving talks to groups.我提供的课程和我的教学风格
My teaching style is informal and conversational. I teach all 3 levels in both English and German for children and adults. I integrate pronunciation and functional grammar into every lesson without it becoming pedantic. Focussing on student aims allows me to be creative in material choices and lesson execution. We get to know each other and figure out how the student learns best. We all learn differently. Kind correction in a friendly, supportive atmosphere is important to me. We might use books, films, series, articles, podcasts or music as a springboard for conversation and a basis for enhancing language skills, culture appreciation, comprehension and general improvement through Q&A.我的教学资料

I really enjoy the lessons with Morticia.
She is a cheerful and very pleasant teacher with whom to converse about the most divers topics.
She is keen on pedagogical techniques and this helps me feel cared and supported on the difficult journey of learning German.
She has very interesting material about culture and customs, which I can relate to and find useful in my daily life.

Morticia begann mit einigen einfachen Grundregeln und hielt den Unterricht auf Deutsch. Sie gab klare Erklärungen und ich fühlte mich sehr entspannt und sicher. Wir übten das Sprechen und die Korrekturen waren hilfreich, ohne einen Druck auszuüben. Gemeinsam legten wir geeignete Hausaufgaben für die nächste Stunde fest. Die erste Stunde hat mir sehr gut gefallen!
