我在英国生活十多年，英语几乎像母语，对英国文化很熟悉。我能流利使用英语和粤语，普通话良好，也懂一些日语。我喜欢弹吉他，也热爱通过交流、音乐和美食了解文化。我天生好奇，喜欢结识新朋友，倾听故事并分享想法。
I have lived in the UK for over ten years, so English feels like my native tongue, and I know British culture well. I speak English and Cantonese fluently, have good Mandarin, and some Japanese. I enjoy playing guitar, and I love learning about cultures through talks, music, and food. I am curious by nature and enjoy meeting people, hearing stories, and sharing ideas.

I have taught in both university and secondary school, working with young people and adults. Students find me approachable and say I make learning comfortable. I explain ideas clearly and welcome questions. I can help students write strong personal statements, as I did for my BA, MA, and PhD. I can support scholarship success: I gained a university-funded MA award and a CHASE scholarship, a prestigious UK arts and humanities body. Additionally, I can help prepare for speaking exams such as IELTS and TOEFL.

I really enjoy learning with Eric. He is patient, professional, and always well-prepared for each class. What I appreciate most is that he listens carefully and tailors the lessons to my needs, whether it’s speaking practice, grammar, or real-life expressions. He also creates a very comfortable atmosphere, so I feel relaxed and confident when speaking. Thanks to Eric, I can clearly see my progress and I always look forward to our lessons.

I’ve studied with almost 40 teachers on italki and taken over 80 lessons in total. With my background in TESOL, experience as an IELTS tutor, and now doing a Master’s in Applied Linguistics, I can honestly say Eric stands out as one of the very best. He’s not only skilled in his teaching methods, but also incredibly empathetic and supportive. I’d recommend him without hesitation to anyone who wants a great teacher.
