I've been learning with Atsuko-sensei for over a year now and still highly recommend her! I wanted to improve my ability to read kanji, so I practice reading aloud during class, and can definitely feel the improvement. She highlights which kanji are commonly used, so I know which to practice writing without feeling overwhelmed. Even if I make mistakes, she calmly corrects me without making me feel embarrassed, and is very good at explaining new or difficult words in a way I can understand. I practice reading books aloud outside of class too, but there's an educational aspect that you can only get from a teacher that makes taking these classes with her worth it.

I have been studying with Atsuko-sensei for almost two years now, and with her help I was able to pass the JLPT N3 this year. Atsuko-sensei is a wonderful teacher who is attentive to the needs of her students. I highly recommend studying Japanese with Atsuko-sensei!

Atsuko seems to always have the right materials ready for what may be helpful in the lesson. Despite my mixing up words, she makes sure you feel comfortable speaking such that you aren't afraid to make mistakes, and speaks at just the right level for me to understand.
