Community TutorTeaching locally and through the online platform italki. During this time I taught over 800 lessons with 96 students from more than 17 countries, from the ages of 6 to over 60, retaining a full five star rating from student feedback. My students’ abilities ranged from beginners, to completing post-graduate studies in English literature. I also translated scientific documents, and gave public speaking coaching for post-doctoral presentations.

Assistant ManagerNew Hope is an independent homeless charity, and the Sanctuary is a project that runs 3 different housing services for the homeless: 2 emergency direct access accommodations; and 1 longer term move-on accommodation. My role included managing and supporting our project workers in their key-working of the service-users and making sure the support offered, advice given and record keeping was up to an exceptional standard. In my role I also provided supervision and appraisals for support staff.
2018 - 2021
ServerDuties include preparation of the bar, taking orders and payments, learning over 20 smoothie recipes by heart to prepare and serve quickly, washing up and cleaning, managing the production line, receiving and arranging deliveries. This work required being able to work well as a team in an intense production line, as well multi-tasking during lone-working, and retaining a professional and polite customer focussed service.

I can highly recommend Peter as a tutor. Our conversations always feel natural and comfortable, which makes learning much easier. He is very professional in his approach, always well prepared, and fully engaged during lessons.
What I especially appreciate is that he asks a lot of questions and really tries to understand his student better. Thanks to that, the conversations are more meaningful and the learning becomes much more effective.
He is also very good at explaining the more difficult aspects of the language and then helping to put them into practice in future lessons.
