Duilius is one of the handful of scholars on the planet able to converse absolutely effortlessly in Latin on anything you may wish to talk about. However, he is also an extraordinarily talented teacher who really knows how to build fluency in a language. In our classes we alternate between reading / discussion of text and high quality, targeted grammar instruction relevant to the reading - all in Latin of course... I've taken Latin at university as well as with a couple online institutions. Unlike the modern languages, most people that have taken Latin courses cannot use the language at even a basic level (not just the students, but typically the teachers as well!), so when you find a good teacher hold on to him! It's hard to relate the elation I've experienced as my work with Duilius has lead to more and more comfortability using the Latin language. I'm very grateful for the time I've had in his classroom and looking forward to many more classes together!

Lucas is a great teacher. He is knowledgeable, personable, and patient. I have completed over 200 lessons with him, and have gone from knowing almost nothing besides vocabulary to nearly finishing Roma Aeterna. I highly recommend him to anyone interested in learning Latin.

Brian Beyer is a fabulous teacher. My daughter has been taking lessons about once a week for almost 5 years now, starting in 5th grade. She has learned so much, and the lessons have been interesting and she looks forward to them very much. She has done very well yearly on the National Latin Exam, and was able to start 11th grade Latin last year as a 9th grader. He also really cares about his students and their growth.

I had a great first lesson with Erik. We read a chapter in LLPSI and between each paragraph he asked me comprehension questions in Latin that I was then able to answer. Being our first lesson, we also discussed other resources that we would use in our classes, what was expected from me between lessons, as well as other ways to get more input. I am very excited for our other lessons. 5 stars, certainly!

After taking my AP Latin exam, I am astonished by how far I’ve come with the help of Lucy. Throughout all of our classes no time was wasted in learning new grammar, working on practices, or going through translation. After just about a year of studies I can say I have learned more than I ever expected and have reached my goal of even feasibly taking this test. Thank you to Lucy for making this possible and assisting me in my ambitious goal to take on this, for without it I most definitely wouldn’t have made it as far. I am excited to continue studying Latin at a more leisurely pace but keep working towards perfecting my translation and grammar in future lessons.

After our trial, I'm excited to keep learning with Jamie, who seems a tremedously versatile teacher, with the knowledge and sympathy to support each situation. I found him fully ready to implement various methodologies, and he gave lots of attention to my background, aims and abilities, to ensure the coming lessons would fit me now, as well as helping me to progress. His enthusiasm obviously embraces both the material and the process of teaching and learning. We agreed on an immersive approach for Latin, which is not too commonly available in the current pedagogy of ancient languages; I'm sure Jamie could equally well emphasise a traditional grammar angle, or cultural context, as appropriate or preferred. I can't attest at this point to how I will get on with Jamie's method, but I know his compassion, humour and conscientious nature have put me at ease, and made Latin seem... not quite so hard any more :-) Thanks Jamie!
