My experience with Awethu continues to be outstanding. She has an advanced understanding of many languages that include English, Xhosa, Zulu and Afrikaans, and it shows in her ability to explain grammar, use and understand slang as well as formal language. As a Native English speaker myself, I am impressed of how well she is able to explain things in regards to the Xhosa culture and language and relate those things to an English speaker. She is also very understanding of the challenges that I face while trying to learn a second language, and that means a lot to someone who has never spoken a second language. I am very much looking forward to continuing to my language studies with Awethu.

Super amazing lesson! We went over a lot in an hour. Naledi is really good at assessing your needs and guiding you, regardless of current language level. I had a tiny bit of experience with Xhosa and more with Zulu and learning other languages which Naledi picked up on and tailored the lesson around. The lesson felt like a natural flow between working of conversational vocab, grammar, and pronunciation. It was really quite enjoyable and quite good. It was a super efficient use of time and money so I am definitely booking more lessons.

Molo! Igama lam ngu Miriam. A great first lesson with Nelly! I'm a total beginner in Xhosa and need some basic knowledge of this language for a project. Nelly was very patient and supportive. We learnt the click sounds today and some basic phrases. I'm looking forward to our next class and learning more about this beautiful language. Enkosi, Nelly!

After 16 hours with Luvo, I feel that I have advanced greatly in Xhosa (despite not spending a single minute practicing outside of these sessions). Our lessons are always well structured and appropriately paced. Luvo is also very flexible and happy to digress with my endless grammatical questions and tailors the content to my specific needs. What a dude. Highly recommended!

Gugu is a great titshalakazi! Materials prior to lessons are provided, her collaborative approach ensures that lessons are tailored to my learning style, and she makes complex concepts easy to grasp. Her communication and teaching principles are gentle, yet effective, and fosters a supportive environment for learning. Highly recommend for anyone serious about mastering isiXhosa!

USandi is literally the best teacher I could ask for. Nine months ago I could barely greet, but my reading, writing, speaking and listening have all gotten so much better. Even when I’m hard on myself, uSandi is so encouraging and reminds me of how far I’ve come. Absolutely amazing! was not sure about the whole italki tutor thing as i was new to this, plus was a bit nervous but Busi was splendid got to know me and was actually really interested. We were also able to dive into the lesson ,such a free flowing class and you never feel shy . I am definitely coming back for more English and Xhosa lessons.

Palesa is extremely friendly and made me feel that it was ok to make mistakes whilst I'm learning the language. I'm really excited to have her as my teacher.
