こんにちは～！マルハバ！サウジの日本語の先生、佳子です＾＾
みなさんー！お元気ですかー？もう5月ですね！なんか3月4月が一瞬で過ぎ去った気がします。
今日は前回の続きで、「サウジの学校」についてもう少しお話しします！
まずは時間割から。学校によって多少異なるかもしれないですが、息子の学校についてお話ししますね。息子の学校はアラブ人が多く通う小さなインターナショナルスクールです。なので、どちらかというとサウジの一般的な学校に近いと思います。朝7:20に校庭で集会があり、7:30から9:15まで授業が3つ、そのあと40分の休憩、そのあと授業が6つあります。途中15分程度のお祈りの時間があります。小1のクラスはお祈りの時間、授業を続けたり、ちょっと休憩したりしています。基本的にサウジの学校には、授業と授業の間の短い休憩時間がありません。そして、朝9時ごろに30分程度の休憩時間がありますが、みんな朝食を食べます。日本では学校が8:20ごろにスタートするので、朝食は家で食べてきます。息子の学校は7:30-1:30の6時間なのでランチタイムはありません。7時間の学校はランチ休憩もあります。時期によって時間が変わることもありますが、12時頃、15分程度お祈りの時間があります。日本では12:30ごろに給食があり、そのあとみんなで掃除と昼休みがあります。サウジでは掃除は用務員さんがします。
私は日本の学校システムのほうが好きです。授業の間に休憩時間があることで、授業の途中に教室を出る人が減るし、頭の切り替えがスムーズにできると思います。休憩がない場合、次の授業の先生が来て、すぐ授業が始まるので、一息つく時間があまりありません。そして日本の給食は最高です。メイン、主食、副食、デザート、牛乳のセットで健康的だし、親は忙しい朝にお弁当の準備をする必要がありません。私は保育園から中学校まで給食がありましたが、ほんとうに給食が大好きで、女子では珍しいですが、いつもおかわりしていました！
サウジの学校では朝食を持っていかないといけないので、時々悩みます。というのも3-11月は暑いので、腐りやすいものは持っていけません。息子の場合、ほとんどピーナツバターサンドとりんごまたはピーナッツを持っていきました。3月からピーナツバターサンドに飽きてきて、残すようになり、4月からヘルシーなバナナブレッドに変えてみたりしましたが、今週からまたピーナツバターサンドに戻りました。毎日同じ朝食ではかわいそうな気がしますが、息子の好みと天候を考慮するとこれがベストです。
学校によってはパンなどの軽食を販売する売店があったり、食事を忘れた人のために教室などに売りに来る場合もあります。そういう学校では生徒がお金を持ってくるのが普通です。
息子の学校では通常スイーツやスナック菓子を持ってくるのは禁止ですが、時々イベントがあってアイスクリームなどを販売したり、無料で配ったりしています。サウジナショナルデーなどの大きなイベントが年に3回ほどあり、みんなでお菓子交換をしています。そんなときはもらったらみんな普通に食べています。ちょっと矛盾していますが、そのおかげで息子は時々学校生活を楽しんでいます。
いやー、サウジの学校は本当に日本の学校と360度違うので、おもしろいです。

それでは今日のフレーズです。今日のフレーズは「一息つく」です。「一息」とは何でしょうか？「一呼吸」のことです。つまり「一息つく」とは「少し休む」ということです。「一息入れる」という言い方もします。例えば「今日はお客さんが多くて、2時にやっと一息つけた。」

Sono Simona Gentili e questo è il mio podcast “semi-professionale” per chiunque abbia voglia di ascoltare cinque minuti di interviste e parole al vento…. O libere come il vento.

Ho iniziato per gioco. 
Ho continuato per divertimento e per dare sfogo alla mia creatività.
Concludo l’anno con piacere.
Il piacere di avervi incontrato, per lo più virtualmente, ma qualche volta anche di persona. Anche solo una volta.
E il piacere di fare quello che mi piace e di farlo come mi piace.
Non vi chiederò e non vi dirò qual è il bilancio dell’anno che è passato.
Ma vi dirò che la parola del 2024, secondo me, è “DISQUISIRE”.

Velar consonants are sounds you make with the back of your tongue touching the soft palate, also called the velum. It's the fleshy bit at the back of the roof of your mouth, near your uvula (the little dangly thing).

Production:
Raise the back of your tongue up to touch the velum. Airflow is blocked completely for a moment.

Examples in English:
/k/: This is the voiceless velar plosive, the sound at the beginning of "kit" or "cat."
/g/: This is the voiced velar plosive, the sound at the beginning of "game" or the "g" in "going."
/ŋ/: This is the velar nasal, the sound at the end of "sing" or "long." Notice how air can flow out your nose while making this sound.

Other interesting facts:
The sound /k/ is actually one of the most common consonant sound across all human languages! Velar consonants can be influenced by nearby vowels. They might move slightly forward in the mouth (called "fronting") before front vowels like /

i:/ or /ɪ/ or move back (called "retraction") before back vowels like /u/ or /ʊ/.
